Hey. My name is Zan. I’m from Adelaide, South Australia.
I started eating a ketogenic low carb, high fat diet in June of 2012. When I first began, my primary goal was to lose some extra kilos, but I’ve noticed so many other benefits of this lifestyle and I now have no intention of going back.
Although it was the initial reason for cutting carbs, weight loss hasn’t remained my motivation for continuing to eat this way. My body just feels better. I’m no longer tired, bloated, uncomfortable or struggling to find the energy to get through the day. I also suffer from fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis, and I’ve noticed a huge difference in joint and muscle pain when I’m eating sugar, compared to when I’m not.
I guess I want to show people how easy it can be to cut out sugar and reap the rewards, without feeling deprived and suffering through the same boring meals day after day. I mean, you can just eat bacon and eggs every day, if that’s what you’re into, but there are so many delicious things you can eat too, why not enjoy yourself?
My plan for this blog is to be a collection of low carb, high fat recipes and ideas. Some of the recipes I post on here will be original, some will be inspired by others, and some will be common practices in the low carb community.
